I haven't been lazy - really - it's true this time.
My computer sucks - I should also say that I'm at work when I'm doing this stuff so technically I shouldn't be able to get on as much as I do....but I haven't gotten a raise in five years - I'm balancing out the whole situation by working less...what a shitty attitude I have....I really need to start back into therapy. But what fun is that? I've been told my those so called professionals that I have a drinking problem, I have trust issues with my significant other and I have no self esteem - which apparently all my mothers fault - BULLSHIT! All I want is some drugs - but will they give them to me? - NO! I already have a substance abuse problem *snicker* Instead they want me to check myself into "Intense Therapy" they would like a month but because American health insurance sucks it would probably be only a week to ten days. Sorry this is depressing....on to better things...

You've probably already heard about the passing of long time Tonight Show host Johnny Carson, so I won't bore you with additional details, especially since I'm more of a Letterman fan and only found the spoofs of Carson to be somewhat funny.

So I'll press on to a more significant passing of recent days.

Rose Mary Woods - Long Time Secretary for Richard M. Nixon, 87
The foot behind the infamous gap in the Watergate tapes was picked from obsurity by a young Dick Nixon she became his personal secretary through his White House years.
Nixon even stating at one point that "she was part of the family".
Her big toe caused quite a stir and even landed her on the cover of Time Magazine only Adolf Hitler, George Bush and Madonna amoungst others can claim that kind of fame.
One wonders after all these years exactly what was on that 18.5 minutes of tape...perhaps Rose and Tricky Dicky are laughing it up - wherever they are now.

good woman, no cry

I never got Bob Marley.
It seems to me that only college kids with way too much time on their hands really dug Marley. Then they graduate, get a job, and the CD is pushed back to the very very back of their cool Pottery Barn CD holder and only take it out when they binge drink on the weekend.

But I do give the man a lot of props - he held onto his beliefs - even after death. His wife, Rita, is planning on exhuming his remains and scooting off to Ethopia homeland of the the Rastafarian and plant his bones in his final "spiritual resting place" . Talk about true love.

Hell-icious

I've always dreamed of traveling the world - seeing what else is out there - but I seem to be stuck in one place - which is probably caused by my total fear of flying - but what the fuck.

One thing I've always wanted to do is to go to some back woods revival - I think I saw 'Leap of Faith' a few too many times. But I imagine it to be something like this story out of Deep-Woods Off Florida. A Presbyterian minister keeled over and died in mid-sentence of a sermon after saying "And when I go to heaven ...," That's true religion - you gotta feel that shit. I'm more the Bethany Slone of religion right now - balancing my checkbook during the sermon.

Will Eisner, 87

Will Eisner, 87
March 6, 1917 - January 3, 2005

I'm a comicbook newbie - I know who Todd McFarlene, John Byrne and Frank Miller are and I know that they were influenced by Will Eisner.

Eisner had been in the industry since 1940 with his landmark series called "The Spirit".
An annual award named after him "The Eisner" is one of the most prestigious awards in the comic book industry.

Passed away in Florida after a quadruple bypass surgury.
